Report Types
PACE Rehabilitation offers three types of report - Medico-Legal Assessment; Immediate Needs Assessment; and an Initial Assessment. In all cases, a signed copy of our Terms & Conditions is required prior to an assessment.
For Medico-Legal and Immediate Needs assessments, a detailed letter of instruction and accompanying medical reports/documentation (if available) are also required, prior to an assessment.
Medico-legal Report
This report is for the judge/courts. The instruction may come from a solicitor or insurer. The report will contain the requested findings about the patient, view opinions for short term, mid term and life long management, including costs for this. As an expert witness, clinicians can comment only on their area of expertise and as an individual.
The assessment appointment is usually 1.5 – 2 hours long, with the report sent out within 4 weeks of the appointment.
Charges associated to this type of report are by the expert witness' hourly rate.
All documentation intended for the Courts fulfills the requirements of the Civil Procedure Rules Part 35 and is compiled by clinical professionals who undertake regular expert witness training.
Immediate Needs Assessment
This comprises of a full report for the referrer, be they solicitors, case managers or insurers. It is not for the judge and therefore does not contain a statement of truth or reference for opinions. The report will provide an abbreviated history, findings and opinion for rehabilitation recommendations for the next 6 months.
The assessment appointment is usually 1.5 - 2 hours long, with the report sent out within 4 weeks of the appointment.
Charges associated to this type of report are at respective clinical consultants' hourly rate.
Initial Assessment
This is typically requested by self funding patients. It comprises of a short report, in the form of a letter, following an initial assessment by the clinician/s and contains brief history, findings, recommendations and costs. Solicitors, case managers and insurers occassionally request this type of report if this is all that is required.
The assessment appointment is usually 1.5 - 2 hours long and the letter will be sent out within 2 weeks of the assessment.
