Cheadle MP Learns About Limb Loss

Mr Hunter, who has just joined the Parliamentary Limb Loss Group, was given a guided tour of the rehabilitation centre which specialises in ambulation and mobility to get a better understanding of the issues involved. PACE was the first private organisation in the UK within this field of rehabilitation to offer clients access to a wide range of multi-disciplinary professionals from a single source. The MP met with PACE team members – prosthetists, orthotists, technicians, physios and counsellors - to learn more about the services available. Commenting on his visit he said: “I was certainly very impressed by what I saw. It's always encouraging to visit successful organisations in my constituency, especially one that has helped improve the quality of life for so many people in our area and beyond."

He continued: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to see for myself the good work that is going on here and it's clear that the management team has a strong vision about the services the company can provide. I wish everyone involved great success for the future.”

PACE recently acted as specialist consultants to the producers of the popular four-part adventure TV documentary series Beyond Boundaries which was filmed on BBC 2 in October. Such was the success of the partnership that the programme producers will be back at PACE in the new year to work on a second series.
